Besides, the film also becomes overlong and the climax lacks the effect. The element of surprise in the former film is missing in this one. Where the motive of "A Wednesday" remains unclear till the very end of the movie, "Madaari" becomes a bit obvious by the interval. In terms of story, the film is close to the thriller "A Wednesday" (2008). For the purpose, he helds captive an eight year old son of the home minister and starts to play a game to provoke the corrupt system. He wants to talk some of the officials who are guilty for the collapse of the structure. The plot revolves around one of such common persons whose son is killed in the collapse of a fly-over road of a city. Every year thousands of civilians fall prey to the negligence of the system and government remains reluctant to provide any support in such circumstances. "Madaari" presents the anger of a common man against the system. Kireedam has a sequel film Chenkol(1993) which was never dubbed or remade in Hindi. This blockbuster film was remade in Hindi as Gardish(1993) directed by Priyadarshan. He has directed music in such hits like Dhoom(2004), Gangster(2006), Jab We Met(2007), Race(2008) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan(2015). Before I forget, I would like to mention the superb music in the film by the veteran music director Pritam. The age-old problem of government corruption in India is re-emphasized. So technology wise, a lot has changed in India. Smartphones are by the billion in India, and then we have the newer iPads. The effect new digital technology is making in spreading information quickly around the world is shown in this film. This is a powerful psychological drama and very relevant in today's world. He has managed to make tears fall from my eyes at many points in this film. In this film he is at the pinnacle of his acting prowess.
I enjoyed his performance in Billu Barber(2009) and again in The Lunchbox(2013). He is becoming the undisputed people's champion with films like these. I have mentioned again and again how impressed I am with Irrfan Khan's steady rise in Bollywood. I have also seen him act in the film 404(2011). I have already seen his previous films: Force(2011), Drishyam(2015) and Rocky Handsome(2016). I will not reveal more - you will have to see this brilliant film directed by an extraordinary director: Nishikant Kamat. However Nirmal's life is shattered by an unforeseen calamity. On one occasion his son remarked about the whereabouts of his mother and he said that she left him for a career in the United States.
All the spare time he has he spends with his son, playing with him and teaching him.
As a single parent, Nirmal Kumar(Irrfan Khan) life is fulfilled by caring for this little boy. The plot of the film deals with a man who has lost the only thing in life that is dear to him. This is such a powerful film, and not just a film, but a powerful statement. On the whole, 'Madaari' is, at best, a decent film with some impressive performances. The child actor, who Irrfan kidnaps & later builds a friendship with, is cute.
MADAARI 2016 MOVIE ONLINE FULL
Giving Irrfan full support is the underrated yet remarkable Jimmy Shergill, who's pitch-perfect as the CBI-Officer who's tracking him down. Note the sequence right after his son dies, its heart-breaking. Performance-Wise: Irrfan delivers a sincere, central performance as the enraged common man. Nishikant Kamat's Direction is surprisingly restrained this time & that works on his advantage. Ritesh Shah's Screenplay has some great moments, but it isn't foolproof. The first-hour nicely builds-up, but the second-hour lacks the power, one expects from it. Though I liked the fast-pace & the sub-plot involving the father & son, the narrative, somehow, loses its steam by the time it reaches its culmination, which ideally, should've been the best part. Neeraj Pandey's masterful A Wednesday depicted a common man's anger with thumping rage, but 'Madaari' is only compelling in parts. 'Madaari' is about a common man's fight with the corrupt politicians, that run the government. 'Madaari' Synopsis: A man named Nirmal loses his Son in a man-made disaster, after which, he starts the journey of seeking answers asking for accountability which urges him to take revenge. Though compelling in parts, the film never comes up powerful enough. He's in full tormented form as an angry common man, but the film, comes up short. Irrfan Khan is one of the most respected & versatile actors in the Filmdom today & with 'Madaari', he reinstates that fact once again.
